Johnny Whitworth says he wouldn't swallow the 'Limitless' pill
Johnny Whitworth says he would personally turn down a drug that would make him "Limitless" at the film's premiere on March 11, 2011.
"If I passed me a pill, I would not take it," Whitworth told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "Just because I'm not a trust-worthy person. I'd have to have someone judge whether it was good before I put myself in that kind of jeopardy... It's not explained that you are going to be able to do all that stuff, it's like 'here's a pill that will help you out.' And then it's like, 'wow, I had no idea.'"
"Limitless" also stars Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish. The film follows hapless copywriter Eddie Morra (Cooper), whose life is turned around when he's introduced to the top-secret drug, NZT, which gives him super human abilities. Whitworth plays the man who introduces Cooper's character to NZT in the film, which is based on the Alan Glynn novel, "The Dark Fields."
"I introduce him to a pill that allows him to function on a level that no one else can, he can access every little moment," Whitworth explained to OnTheRedCarpet.com. "How I imagined it, was like when you were a little kid and the TV was going on in the background, you have access to what was playing in there cause you just, through your senses you heard it, so it's in your memory."
Whitworth joked that he had a miserable time acting alongside Cooper, but said that he learned from De Niro, "That an actor, who's worth his merit, can actually have longevity."
Whitworth got his start starring alongside Liv Tyler in the classic '90s favorite, "Empire Records." His next role is in the Nicolas Cage movie, "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," which is slated for release on February 17, 2011.
"Limitless" was released on March 18, 2011. Watch the trailer below.
