Johnny Depp has chopped off his shoulder-length hair and showcased his new 'do at the recent Los Angeles premiere of his new film "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

The movie is set for release on May 20 and also stars Penelope Cruz. Depp reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, the inspiration behind Sparrow, plays the pirate's father, Captain Teague.

Depp is currently filming the movie "Dark Shadows," directed by longtime associate and friend Tim Burton and starring Helena Bonham Carter. Depp also appears in the film adaptation of his old 1980's cop series "21 Jump Street."
