John Travolta's car was stolen, police say

John Travolta was recently the victim of a suspected car theft, police say.

The 57-year-old actor's vintage Mercedes Benz 280-SL, estimated to be worth between $20,000 and $80,000, was stolen on Sunday, the Los Angeles Times said.

Travolta had parked the vehicle on a residential street in Santa Monica and visited a nearby Jaguar dealer. When he returned, his car was gone, the newspaper said.

"A stolen vehicle report was taken from Mr. Travolta Sunday afternoon. The case is currently being investigated," a local police spokesperson said in a statement to OnTheRedCarpet.com.

No further details were offered. No suspects have been named. Travolta's spokesperson had no immediate comment on the report.
