Joel Madden and Nicole Richie's wedding performed by rapper Reverend Run, report says
First there were rumors of an elephant, now Joel Madden and Nicole Richie's wedding just got a little cooler.
Rap legend and practicing minister Reverend Run of Run-D.M.C. fame presided over the couple's Saturday nuptials, according to Us Weekly.
The 46-year-old former rapper - whose real name is Joseph Simmons - was called in to perform the ceremony because the bride and groom are both huge fans. According to a source quoted by the magazine, "Joel and Nicole have looked up to Rev. Run, so they wanted him to officiate."
After weeks of rumors of a winter wedding, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden tied the knot on Saturday in front of 130 close friends and family at Lionel Richie's Beverly Hills home.
Richie, 29, and Madden, 31, began dating in 2006. In addition to their daughter Harlow, the two have a 15-month-old son named Sparrow.
Simmons, who now offers sage advice on Twitter, featured his family on the MTV reality series "Run's House."
