Jodie Sweetin of 'Full House' engaged to Morty Coyle
Jodie Sweetin, a former child star who played Stephanie Tanner on the 1990s sitcom "Full House," recently became engaged to boyfriend Morty Coyle.
Sweetin gave birth to their daughter Beatrix, their first child, in August 2010. Coyle, 42, proposed to the actress on Tuesday at her birthday party, People magazine reported. Sweetin turned 29 on Wednesday.
Coyle said on his Twitter page that he "is in Love with My Fiance and Waiting for Marriage Equality for All!!!"
He told People that he and Sweetin planned to wed when same-sex couples will be able to do so legally as well, adding: "Just because we weren't married doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a ring."
Sweetin's engagement ring, from Erwin Hesz jewelers, contains a 2½-carat oval sapphire surrounded by 18 diamonds in a snowflake shape, the magazine said.
"@jodietweetin @DJMortyCoyle - Congrats on your engagement!" Dave Coulier, who played live-in family friend Joey on "Full House," said on his Twitter page. "Had a blast with you guys last night!"
Jodie Sweetin also has a 2-year-old daughter, Zoie, with ex-husband Cody Herpin.
Sweetin played middle child Stephanie Tanner on "Full House," which ran between 1987 and 1995 and starred Bob Saget and John Stamos as her father and uncle and Candace Cameron Bure and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as her sisters, D.J. and Michelle.
Sweetin has also appeared on shows such as "Party of Five" and "Yes, Dear."
