After Jimmy Kimmel aired a spoof of Kanye West's recent BBC interview with a child playing Kanye West, the rapper ranted about the comedian and the video on Twitter on Thursday, Sept. 26.

While some might be a little skeptical of the authenticity of West's rant, considering Kimmel pulled off the "Twerk Fail" hoax earlier this month, the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" host insisted that West's rant was real and not a publicity stunt.

"This is not a stunt," Kimmel told George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OTRC.com's parent company, at an event for The 12th Annual Galbani Cheese Italian Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles on Thursday. "What happened today is not a prank unless it is a prank being pulled on me because, as far as I know, he's very angry and, I mean, I don't think he's violent. I hope he's not violent. I don't think he is. He seems like a pretty non-violent guy."

"In fact, he said, 'Peace,' as he hung up on me," Kimmel added. Video of his interview can be viewed above.

The comedian later said he's not too worried about Kanye's rant, "It's not like we're talking about Biggie and Tupac. It's Kanye."

West's expletive-filled rant included references to Ben Affleck and Kimmel's ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman.

"JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS," West tweeted as the first part of his rant.

"YOU CAN'T PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES. YOUR FACE LOOKS CRAZY," West wrote in another Tweet at 5:15 p.m. PT. "IS THAT FUNNY? ... OR IF I HAD A KID SAY IT WOULD IT BE FUNNY???"

West later added, "SARAH SILVERMAN IS A THOUSAND TIMES FUNNIER THAN YOU AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IT!!!"

Kimmel talked about the rant during his opening monologue on his show Thursday and talked about the phone call he received from West.

"He called me. He said a lot of things. He told me I had two choices. No. 1, apologize publicly ... and that was really the only choice," he joked. "The other choice he gave was that my life... 'Your life,' he said, 'is gonna be much better if you apologize.'"

Kimmel still seems to be taking the whole thing in stride and tweeted on Friday, "I challenge you to a rap battle @kanyewest #Iplaytheclarinet."
