Jimmy Kimmel has been evacuated from French Polynesian island following tsunami scare
Jimmy Kimmel is among the many affectected by the continuning tsunami-waves caused by Japan's earthquake last night, the talk show host was evacuated from a French Polynesian island.
Kimmel has been updating his Twitter account since a few hours after the earthquake, maintaining a sense of humor in a rather scary situation.
"Suddenly, relaxing on an island in the South Pacific isn't so relaxing anymore," Kimmel wrote on the micro-blogging site. "Good thing I brought my aqua stilts."
But when the comedian was asked how scared he was on a scale of 1-10, Kimmel admit that he was "a good solid 7" since he was indeed on a "small island, with no high ground."
On Friday morning, Kimmel announce, "we are evacuating the island. dogspeed."
Kimmel thanked his fans for their concerns and told them not to worry if he isn't constantly updating his status on the social networking site.
Tsunami warnings have been issued to the West Coast from California to Alaska and there have been coastal evaxuations in Hawaii and other islands in the Pacific.
