Jim Carrey's 'Saturday Night Live' episode earns record ratings
01/10/2011 by Corinne Heller
Jim Carrey's hosting gig on "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday helped the NBC sketch comedy series score its highest ratings since Betty White hosted it in May.
"Saturday Night Live" earned a 7.8 rating in metered-market households, the Hollywood Reporter said. Carrey's episode included a parody skit of Natalie Portman's latest film, the ballet thriller "Black Swan" and musical guest, the group The Black Keys.
White's episode, which marked her big television comeback that would help her earn the title of the Associated Press' "'Entertainer of the Year," earned an 8.8 rating.
Carrey last hosted "Saturday Night Live" in 1996 and took the chance to host the January 8 episode to promote his latest film "I Love You Phillip Morris."
