Jillian Michaels welcomes baby boy with partner Heidi Rhoades, also adopts girl
After years of waiting to adopt, fitness guru and former "Biggest Loser" coach Jillian Michaels, 38, is finally a mother - of two children.
Her girlfriend, Heidi Rhoades, 31, gave birth to a baby boy, Phoenix, on May 3. The same week, Michaels also brought home a 2-year-old girl named Lukensia from Haiti, People magazine reported.
"I'm really happy to share that my daughter is finally home & my son was born on 5/3," she Tweeted on Wednesday, May 23.
She and Rhoades, whose nickname is Mouse, have been linked together since at least 2009. Michaels has posted many photos of her girlfriend on Facebook.
She talked about her love life in an interview with Ladies Home Journal, saying: "Let's just say I believe in healthy love. If I fall in love with a woman, that's awesome. If I fall in love with a man, that's awesome. As long as you fall in love ... it's like organic food. I only eat healthy food, and I only want healthy love!".
Michaels had announced her departure from "The Biggest Loser," in December 2010, saying she wanted to take a year off to bring home a child and focus on her charity work. She was featured as a fitness trainer on the NBC weight loss reality series on and off since 2004.
Michaels had told Women's Health magazine, when asked about pregnancy, that she was planning on adopting a child, adding: "I can't handle doing that to my body." She said on her Twitter page that she began wanting children around 2008.
In 2011, worked as a co-host on the syndicated daytime talk show "The Doctors" for half a season.
Michaels has her own collection of fitness books, video games and DVDs and released a new one, "Kickbox Fastfix," in March.
