Jewel is pregnant with first baby
Jewel Kilcher, known as Jewel, and husband Ty Murray are expecting their first baby after trying to conceive for years.
The 36-year-old singer and co-host of the new Bravo reality talent series, "Going Platinum," and Murray, a rodeo star, married in 2008.
" I have some exciting news & Ty and I are expecting!" Jewel said on her website. She told People magazine that she is in her second trimester.
"I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!" Jewel said. "It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I'd start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, 'Oh, she's pregnant.'"
"I have always been a workaholic, so I had to learn how to slow down and take care of myself in a different way," she added. "I'm trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy."
"Going Platinum," a 10-episode reality contest for singer-songwriters, is set to debut later this year and is set to be co-hosted by Kara DioGuardi, a former "American Idol" judge.
