Jessica Alba: Daughter doesn't understand what I do for a living

08/19/2011 by OnTheRedCarpet.com Staff

Jessica Alba says her 3-year-old first daughter, Honor, does not understand what she does for a living, but the actress, who is often touted as a sex symbol, does not mind.

Alba, 30, recently welcomed a second child, a baby girl named Haven, with husband Cash Warren. The young mother is best known for action films such as "Sin City" in 2005 and the "Fantastic Four" movies and stars in the more family-friendly "Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D," which hit theaters on Friday, August 19.

"I don't really mind that my daughter doesn't understand what I do for a living," Alba told OnTheRedCarpet.com regarding Honor. "It's not something I really think is that important. But I think it's cool if she can enjoy a movie that I've done. So this movie, she could definitely see. There's nothing scary in it."

She made her comments before she gave birth to Haven.

In "Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D," the actress plays a secret agent who comes out of retirement and recruits her two stepchildren to try to stop the villain The Timekeeper, portrayed by Jeremy Piven.

The film also stars returning stars Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara as well as Joel McHale from the NBC comedy series "Community" and the E! show "The Soup."

Alba announced the arrival of her second baby several days ago. She and Warren, a 32-year-old producer, married in May 2008. Alba told Latina Magazine in an interview published in July that her first daughter changed her perspective on life, saying: "Before I had her, work was all I had. Now it's not."
