Jersey Shore cast returning for a third season

MTV confirms that most of the Jersey Shore gang will be returning to Seaside Heights, New Jersey for a third season of the popular show after tensions allegedly flared between the network and cast over contracts and compensation.

Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "J Woww" Farley, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Vinny Guadagnino are all returning to the series. Only Angelina Pivarnick - who left early in season one but returned for season two - will not return for the third season.

MTV is pleased that the Jersey Shore cast are returning to Seaside Heights to continue production on Season 3, the network said in a statement. Not only have they become a part of the MTV family, but fans worldwide have fallen in love with them.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the groups contract negotiations held up production for the second half of season two. The cast initially asked for $30,000 per episode up from their current salary of $10,000 an episode.

Season two, which premieres July 29, was filmed in Miami and Seaside Heights. Check out the trailer!
