Jennifer Lopez dishes on romance with Casper Smart, running into Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez is speaking up in new interviews about her romance with dancer Casper Smart, their age difference and ex-fiance Ben Affleck's win at the Golden Globes.
The 43-year-old actress spoke to People magazine about how Smart helped her cope with her divorce from Marc Anthony.
"I just got out of a big, heavy, devastating thing, and he's helped me heal," she told the magazine about the 25-year-old dancer. "He's been there for me."
Lopez and third husband, Marc Anthony, announced in July 2011 that they would end their seven-year marriage. Anthony, father to 4-year-old twins with Lopez, filed for divorce in April 2012.
The singer and actress said that she is also well aware of the age difference between herself and Smart and often asks Smart if he wishes he was dating someone younger.
"I ask him, 'Why don't you go find a young girlfriend and get out of here? What do you want with me?' And you think, 'How long is this gonna be?' You think, 'Okay, in 10 years I'm going to be like this and you're going to be like that' and ... men at that age are ... I think all different things," she said. "The truth is we don't know what's going to happen. We're loving this moment right now. We make each other happy."
Lopez has been married twice before but has no other children other than her and Anthony's twins. She and Ojani Noa were married between 1997 and 1998. Lopez wed actor and dance choreographer Cris Judd in 2001. They divorced in 2003. She also dated Ben Affleck starting in 2002 and the two became engaged later that year. The coupe broke up in 2004 due to media attention.
During a January 16 appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Lopez spoke about her ex winning two Golden Globes for Best Director and Best Picture for "Argo" and running into other famous exes like Diddy and Bradley Cooper at award ceremonies.
"I see them a lot," she told the talk show host, who asked her if it was awkward. "Because we're in the same business. We run in the same circles."
When asked about Affleck, Lopez said, "They were really hard on us in the press when we dated back in the day. On movies and things like that."
"So it was a nice moment," she added about Affleck's win. "It was a nice to see him have that moment. I was really happy for him."
Up next for Lopez is the action film "Parker" with Jason Statham. The film is due out on January 25. Check out Lopez's interview with Ellen DeGeneres below.
