Jennifer Lawrence's 'Silver Linings Playbook' clothes sold for $12,000 -- included sports bra
Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar win for "Silver Linings Playbook" might have not only boosted the actress' profile in Hollywood, but also the price of the clothes she wore in the film.
Several items of clothing Lawrence wore in the film were sold at a recent three-day online auction with the Nate D. Sanders auction house for a total sum of $12,000, according to Reuters.
Other items sold at the auction included a teal sports bra and blue long-sleeved shirt that went for $3,175 and a black tank top that was a part of Lawrence's wardrobe but was not featured in the film. The tank top sold for $624.
According to Reuters, the seller of the memorabilia had initially expected the clothes to get bids between $500 and $1,500.
Lawrence won her first Oscar for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook" for her role as a feisty woman named Tiffany who is mourning the death of her husband and is struggling to deal with her loss. She falls in love with main character Pat, played by Bradley Cooper. He is a former teacher and bipolar disorder patient who has been released from a mental institution and wants to reconnect with his ex-wife.
The 22-year-old actress beat Naomi Watts of "The Impossible," Jessica Chastain of "Zero Dark Thirty," Quvenhane Wallis, the 9-year-old star of "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and "Amour" actress" Emmanuelle Riva.
When she went up to accept her award, Lawrence tripped on the stairs and later joked about the incident in the press room.
"Look at my dress! I tried to walk upstairs in this dress, that's what happened. I think I just stepped on a fabric and they waxed the stairs," Lawrence said. "What went through my mind when I fell down? A bad word that I can't say that starts with F."
The award marked Lawrence's first Oscar win and second nomination. She was previously nominated for "Winter's Bone." She also won a Golden Globe award, a Screen Actors Guild award and several other awards for her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook."
