Jennifer Lawrence feels 'anxiety' about Oscars, praises Bradley Cooper (Video)
Jennifer Lawrence, who is nominated for an Oscar for her "Silver Linings Playbook" role, says she feels "anxiety" about the 2013 ceremony.
The 22-year-old actress, also known for her role in "The Hunger Games," made her comments backstage at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 13, soon after she received an award for her performance in the film. Lawrence plays a widow who falls in love with her bipolar neighbor, portrayed by Bradley Cooper, who wants to reconnect with his ex-wife.
"Bradley is fantastic, an amazing actor and an amazing actor to work with and an amazing person," Lawrence told reporters about her co-star, who is also nominated for an Oscar for his leading role. "He's incredible. He has amazing instincts and I feel quite good about my Oscar nod. That feels really wonderful."
"I told Bradley when we were shooting, that I mean, I've been thinking about everybody in the cast since we were shooting because they're so phenomenal but me and the Oscars together gives me lots of anxiety," Lawrence added.
While the two actors bonded on set, Cooper was quick to dismiss a rumor about a romance between them.
Lawrence's Golden Globe win was her first. She had previously been nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her role in the 2010 movie "Winter's Bone." At the upcoming 2013 Oscars, the actress will compete against Naomi Watts of "The Impossible," Jessica Chastain of "Zero Dark Thirty," Emmanuelle Riva of "Amour" and Quvenzhane Wallis of "Beasts of the Southern Wild."
Cooper, previously known for his role in the "Hangover" movies and the spy series "Alias," was also nominated for a Golden Globe but lost to Hugh Jackman of "Les Miserables." At the 2013 Oscars, Cooper will compete against the actor again, as well as against Daniel Day-Lewis of "Lincoln," Denzel Washington of "Flight" and Joaquin Phoenix of "The Master." Cooper has never been nominated for either award until this year.
Lawrence also talked to reporters about Golden Globe Award presenter and comedy actor Will Ferrell's reference to her as "JLaw."
"That's been going on for years," she said. "My seventh grade teacher started calling me 'JLaw,' so to hear Will Ferrell say it was pretty incredible. I think I'm going to have a lot of texts on my phone about that."Check out a full list of 2013 Golden Globe Award winners as well as a full list of 2013 Oscar nominees.
