Jennifer Hudson: I'm still going to marry David Otunga
Jennifer Hudson has been busy over the past few years, dropping 80 pounds and an album, having a baby, acting, singing and writing a memoir, but she told reporters that she intends to make time to marry her fiancé, David Otunga after a three-year engagement.
"We're going to get married," Hudson told Access Hollywood at the American Music Awards on Sunday. "I know they said we had broken up. We're never broken up."
The 30-year-old singer got engaged to WWE wrestler and Harvard Law School graduate David Otunga, 31, in September 2008, the couple has yet to announce a wedding date and welcomed their son David Daniel Otunga Jr. on August 10, 2009.
"We're still here, but we're very busy people. He's always on the road, I'm always on the road," Hudson continued. "We are together, we just do it at home in Chicago. That's our meeting place."
The Grammy-winning singer told the entertainment magazine their wedding will be at home in Chicago with their family.
Hudson also caught up with OnTheRedCarpet.com at the AMAs, to talk about her weight loss and upcoming projects.
"I have a book coming out in January, look for my book," Hudson told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the American Music Awards. "Also, music -- I'm going back into the studio soon to work on my music as well. 'I Remember Me' is out right now, which is my second album. Also, more films, I'm going to start filming in the spring of next year. So look for movies, music and a book!"
Hudson's "I Remember Me" hit stores in March and is the follow-up to the 29-year-old's 2008 album, "Jennifer Hudson," which won a Grammy Award and has sold more than 800,000 copies.
The former "American Idol" finalist and Oscar-winning actress is a spokeswoman for "Weight Watchers" and in January, she told Oprah Winfrey that she has lost 80 pounds, going from a size 16 to a size 6 through diet and exercise. She is now reportedly a size zero.
"And of course, my Weight Watchers," Hudson said while posing. "It has been absolutely overwhelming but it blows me away. It's something I can't get used to but at times I forget, because in my mind, I'm still the same and I'll be like, 'I didn't put on anything special today, what are they talking about?' And then I'm like oh right, oh right, I look different. Or you know, the transformation and everything."
Hudson competed on the third season of "American Idol" and finished in seventh place. Hudson, who won an Oscar for her role in the 2006 film "Dreamgirls," plans to discuss her weight loss secrets in her upcoming memoir.
