Jennifer Grey to undergo surgery after 'Dancing With the Stars' win
Jennifer Grey is set to undergo back surgery to repair a ruptured disc she suffered weeks before she recently won the 11th season of "Dancing With the Stars", ABC's ballroom dancing show.
Last week, along with partner Derek Hough, the 50-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actress beat celebrity finalists Kyle Massey, an actor, and Bristol Palin, daughter of Republican politician and former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.
Grey says her current ailment is unrelated to chronic neck pain and surgeries she has undergone following a 1987 car accident. No date has been set for the operation yet but the actress says she expects it to occur later this month.
"It's just gonna be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing, and you know, it won't be a big deal," she said. "Compared to the other surgeries I had on my neck, my doctor says it won't be a big deal. I'll be home that night. My neck is fine. My neck did really well because it has a steel plate in it."
