Jennifer Grey has back surgery after 'Dancing With the Stars' win
Jennifer Grey has undergone back surgery to repair a ruptured disc she suffered just before she won the 11th season of "Dancing With the Stars" last month.
Along with partner Derek Hough, the 50-year-old "Dirty Dancing" actress beat celebrity finalists Kyle Massey, an actor, and Bristol Palin, daughter of Republican politician and former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin during the finale of ABC's ballroom dancing contest show.
"Dr. Bray performed a perfect surgery yesterday and I am now safely home in bed," Grey said on her Twitter page, referring to neurological spinal surgeon Dr. Robert S. Bray Jr. of Marina del Rey, California.
Grey has said says her current ailment is unrelated to chronic neck pain and surgeries she has undergone following a 1987 car accident.
"Thanks for the good wishes, recovering very well, aided significantly by this item that arrived today," Grey said, posting a photo of her Mirror Ball Trophy she and Hough were given for their "Dancing With the Stars" victory.
