Jay-Z compares Beyonce to Michael Jackson - What do you think?
While promoting his recent album "Watch the Throne" with Kanye West, rapper Jay-Z talked about what he's learned from his wife, Beyonce, and even compared her to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
When asked about Beyonce by a local Miami radio DJ with 99 Jamz, the rapper said, "What I've learned from her is similar to what I learned from Mike [Jackson], and I know that's blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator, but I think she's like the second coming."
He went on to explain, "The hard work and the dedication that she puts into her shows. It just makes you want to work harder at your craft. She's like a machine."
Jay-Z worked with Michael Jackson for the remix of "You Rock My World" back in 2001. The rapper and Beyonce wed on April 4, 2008. The couple got married with a close circle of 40 friends and family members after dating for six years. The two have collaborated on several singles including "Crazy in Love" and "'03 Bonnie & Clyde.'
Beyonce is an accomplished performer in her own right and has sold more than 75 million records and earned 16 Grammy Awards in her career - including 13 as a solo artist and three as a member of Destiny's Child.
Her 2008 album, "I Am ... Sasha Fierce," earned the singer six Grammy Awards, the most Grammys ever won by a female artist in one night. Meanwhile Michal Jackson and Carlos Santana hold the record for most earned in one night by a single artist, with nine each.
Jackson died at age 50 on June 25, 2009 in his Los Angeles home from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol and two other sedatives that were prescribed by Dr. Conrad Murray. His death was classified as a homicide.
It was announced on Tuesday that Jay-Z has been added to the growing line-up of the iHeartRadio Music festival, set to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas from September 23 to the 24.
