Jason Segel voiced 'Despicable Me' in PJ's, recently married couple on 'Leno'
"I didn't really have to do very much," Segel told OnTheRed Carpet.com at the recent Los Angeles premiere for the film. "First they came to my house and offered it to me and then I showed up in pajamas every few months."
Segel, a confirmed minister with the Universal Life Church, recently officiated the wedding of non-celebrity couple Abbe Thorner and Jason Wood on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" as he continues to make the talk show rounds to promote the film. They had met him at a bar in West Hollywood and asked him to do the honors."They turned out to be the nicest, most normal fun-loving couple ever," Jason told Leno.
"I guess the guys who were supposed to officiate their wedding dropped out and they were watching "Sarah Marshall" at the time, which, I mean, most people are, so they convinced me that I would be an appropriate person to officiate their wedding, and I told them I was out of town for their actual day," he said.
Segel, who shot to fame in 1999 when he starred in Judd Apatow's comedy series "Freaks and Geeks", also plans to begin shooting the new Muppet movie in September.
"I couldn't be more excited to bring the Muppets back to their late '70s, early '80s glory," he said.
