Jason Aldean files for divorce from Jessica Ussery, wife of 11 years
Jason Aldean has filed for divorce from Jessica Ussery, his wife of more than 11 years and his high school sweetheart.
The 36-year-old country singer, whose real last name is Williams, cited "irreconcilable differences" in his divorce filing, which was submitted to a Tennessee court on Friday, People magazine reported. The move came six months after he was photographed acting "inappropriately at a bar" with another woman. Aldean, who shares two daughters with his wife, had apologized for "embarrassing" his family and himself after the pictures were published, adding that he left the venue alone.
People had last week quoted his rep as saying that "Jason and his wife are having problems," without elaborating. There was no mention of a third party. Aldean and Ussery wed in Macon, Georgia on Aug. 4, 2001.
"This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean told the magazine. "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our number one priority."
