Jane Lynch, 'Glee's Sue Sylvester, to get Madame Tussauds wax figure
Jane Lynch, who plays the malevolent Cheerios cheerleading squad coach Sue Sylvester on Glee, will receive her own wax figure at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Hollywood.
The Emmy-nominated actress, who turned 50 on Wednesday, met with sculptors and officials from the famed group, who took measurements and photos to prepare her $300,000 figurine. Her figure is dressed as Sylvester, in a track suit, and holds a bullhorn. It is set to be unveiled on August 4.
"I hope we capture the inner Sue but the inner Sue is the inner Jane Lynch as well," Lynch recently told the Entertainment Tonight show. "I mean, there's a little mean girl in me and it's the part of me that I use for Sue Sylvester so I probably couldn't act it if I didn't have it in me. It's almost freaky and the great thing about it is when I die, my nieces and nephews can come see me."
Other celebrities recently immortalized in wax include Kim Kardashian, who received her figure on July 1, and actor and talk show host George Lopez, whose figure was unveiled on April 1.Lynch was recently nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on Glee as well as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for a guest spot as Dr. Linda Freeman on Charlie Sheen's sitcom Two And A Half Men. Glee nabbed 19 nominations for the 2010 Emmy Awards, which are set to be held on August 29.
Lynch was also honored at the Outfest Gay and Lesbian Film Festival last week and her Glee co-star Chris Colfer, who was also nominated for an Emmy, was on hand to present the actress with the Outfest Achievement Award.
