Jane Fonda treated for breast cancer, report says
Jane Fonda, 72, reportedly discovered she had breast cancer recently and underwent a procedure to remove the tumor, which turned out to be non-invasive. She says that she is now cancer free, according to Entertainment Tonight, which carried the story.
Fonda has released more than 20 fitness videos between 1982 and 1995 and her first one, "Jane Fonda's Workout", has sold more than 17 million copies. Her new exercise videos cater to viewers above the age of 50 and are titled "Jane Fonda Prime Time: Walkout" and "Jane Fonda Prime Time: Fit & Strong". The DVDs are set to be released on November 30.
"I feel I'm at the right stage of life to get back into the Fitness business and pass on all that I've learned about being fit over 50," the new videos' distributor, Lionsgate Home Entertainment, quoted Fonda as saying in a statement.
Fonda said in September that she had had plastic surgery and wrote about it in a book about aging. Getting the cosmetic procedure, which she did not detail, was a "hard decision to make," she told ET, adding that she continues to maintain a healthy figure through proper diet, exercise and required non-cosmetic surgeries.
In the past, Fonda has battled bulimia and had at one point become addicted to exercise. She has since dealt with her problems and says that she works out in moderation.
