Harmony Korine -- banned from "David Letterman"? The talk show host has cleared up rumors with James Franco about the backstage shenanigans of the 'Spring Breakers' director, which involved Meryl Streep, a push and a rifled purse.
"I heard he was banned from the show," said Franco, who portrays a drug and arms dealer in Korine's recently released film, during a recent episode of "The Late Show with David Letterman."
James Franco had another occasion to celebrate before Friday's release of his newest film, Disney's "Oz the Great and Powerful" -- a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 34-year-old actor was joined at the Thursday ceremony by his mother Betsy and brother Dave as well as the movie's director, Sam Raimi, and friend and frequent co-star Seth Rogen, who appeared with him in the 1990s series "Freaks and Geeks" and the 2008 stoner film "Pineapple Express." The actor took the opportunity to showcase his standup comedy skills, delighting much of the crowd.

The trailer for the film "Oz: The Great and Powerful" made its debut at Comic-Con in San Deigo on July 12 and features glimpses from the world of Oz and the CGI technology used in the film.
The film stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz and is adapted from the L. Frank Baum novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." The trailer can be seen below.
