James Franco is set to reprise his character of serial killer Franco on the ABC soap opera "General Hospital" on two episodes airing before and after he co-hosts the 2011 Academy Awards with Anne Hathaway later this month.

Warning: Spoiler alert!

On episodes airing on February 25 and February 28, Franco's character will "wreak havoc once again in Port Charles as he makes a very important phone call to his arch-nemesis Jason Morgan," ABC said in a statement. It also released a new photo of the actor in a scene from one of the new episodes (see above). "General Hospital" airs weekdays at 3 p.m. ET on the network.

Franco, 32, rose to fame with the "Spider-Man" films and is nominated for an Academy Award for his main role in "127 Hours," which depicts the true story of a hiker who amputates his own arm to survive.

Franco began playing his recurring role on "General Hospital" in November 2009 and his character has appeared in at least 40 episodes over the past year, with the most recent airing in August. OnTheRedCarpet.com had confirmed Franco's return to the soap opera late last year.

The 2011 Academy Awards ceremony take place in Los Angeles on February 27 and air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. Check out a full list of Oscar nominations.
