James Franco denies dating 'Spring Breakers' co-star Ashley Benson
Looks like James Franco didn't fall run off with his "Spring Breakers" co-star .
The 34-year-old actor has slammed reports that he is dating 22-year-old Ashley Benson. According to Radar Online, the pair were romantically linked and it was rumored that Benson broke up with Justin Bieber's best friend Ryan Good to pursue the relationship.
Franco responded to the reports in an essay posted on The Huffington Post, which also discussed his teaching engagements, literature and film.
"I also hear that I've been dating Selena Gomez, Kristen Stewart and Ashley Benson. Hot damn, am I a lucky guy," Franco wrote in the Huffington Post. "I wish I had actually gotten closer than the 13th row of the theater in Toronto where Kristen gave her On the Road Q and A, but I didn't; not only did I not talk to her, I didn't even go to the SoHo house where I supposedly asked her out on a date. As for Gomez and Benson, those are Bieber's girls and I wouldn't dare tangle with the Biebs. I heard he wants to kick my ass. Yikes!"
Radar Online claimed that Franco and Benson were spotted holding hands at Universal Studios Horror Nights on October 18 and were walking through New York's Washington Square Park earlier in the month.
The "Pretty Little Liars" actress also responded to the reports, Tweeting on October 24, "Rumors rumors rumors......don't believe everything you read."
Franco, Benson and Gomez grew close on the set of the 2013 film, "Spring Breakers. The movie also stars Vanessa Hudgens.
In the film, Benson, Gomez and Hudgens portray college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for a spring break vacation. They are sent to jail and get involved with Franco's character, a drug and arms dealer, who bails them out.
"It was really, really fun. It's an independent movie and it's a little bit smaller but it's a very different role than anything I've done before," Gomez told OnTheRedCarpet.com in April. "James Franco plays this character who's more of like kind of, not the villain, necessarily, but he's the one that kind of gets us into a little bit of a mess and he's just really great to work with. And Vanessa's been amazing. It was a great, great shoot."
