James Brown biopic casts Chadwick Boseman of '42' (Poll)
Chadwick Boseman, who played baseball star Jackie Robinson in the film "42," is set to play the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown, in a biopic.
The project does not yet have a title and is set to be directed by Tate Taylor, who helmed the 2011 Oscar-winning film "The Help."
"Those are big shoes to fill," the director told the Associated Press.
Brown died at age 73 in 2006 after battling pneumonia and is considered one of the most famous and influential artists of the 20th century. The R&B and funk music legend rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with songs such as "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine."
The biopic is set to begin production in Mississippi this fall, the Associated Press reported.
