Jake Gyllenhaal: 'Love and Other Drugs' a 'sex tape' with Anne Hathaway
Jake Gyllenhaal jokes that his new film "Love and Other Drugs" is a "Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway sex tape," adding that the two actors spent two weeks getting to know each other to prepare for their roles.
The two are not believed to be involved romantically in real life. Hathaway, 28, is also known for films such as "The Devil Wears Prada" and "The Princess Diaries" and also starred with Gyllenhaal, 29, in "Brokeback Mountain".
In "Love and Other Drugs", Hathaway plays Maggie, a free-spirited woman who falls in love with a pharmaceutical salesman, played by Gyllenhaal, who said the time they spent together preparing for the movie was "invaluable".
"We had this two week rehearsal period," he told George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company. "We got to know our characters, got to know each other & what we as people, what turned us on, what didn't turn us on, what we thought was sexy, down to positions, down to movies, down to images, down to thoughts, and we put it all into the movie."
"We would never have had the opportunity if we had just said, 'Hey you want to do this movie? I'll see you on set,'" he added.
Hathaway told OnTheRedCarpet.com earlier this month, adding that she helped pick out fluorescent bras for her character to wear in the film, which is set for release on November 24.
