Jake Gyllenhaal rushed to hospital, treated for hand injury
Jake Gyllenhaal was rushed to an emergency room at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a hand injury on the set of his latest film, "Nightcrawler," OTRC.com has learned.
The accident took place on Wednesday. The 32-year-old actor was filming an "intense scene" in which his character "purposefully banged his hand into the mirror," his spokesperson said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com on Thursday, Nov. 14
"Unfortunately, the mirror broke and Jake's hand was badly cut up," the rep said. "He received numerous stitches at the ER and was released. He already returned to set for work."
In "Nightcrawler," Gyllenhaal plays a struggling crime reporter named Lou. He lost a significant amount of weight for the role and showcased his slimmer figure at the Hollywood Film Awards last month (watch a video of his interview with OTRC.com above).
