Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift might have had a little A-list help getting their romance started. Us Weekly originally reported that Gwyneth Paltrow, who starred with Gyllenhaal in the 2005 film "Proof", hosted a private dinner party for the two at her London home on November 13.

The actress tried to dodge the question when asked by USA Today. "It's so weird. I wonder how people find out these things. It was a while ago, so I don't know why it would come out today." She added, "I've just known Jake for a long time and he's a great guy, and Chris [Martin, Paltow's husband] has a friendship with Taylor."

Gyllenhaal, who celebrates his 30th birthday on Sunday, recently nabbed his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical for his work in "Love and Other Drugs."
