J.R. Martinez, season 13 winner of "Dancing with the Stars" may not be doing the Cha-Cha-Cha in the ballroom anymore, but the actor and army veteran has plenty on his plate in his personal life.
The 29-year-old "All My Children" alum recently sat down with OTRC.com correspondent Tony Cabrera to talk about his ongoing love for "Dancing With The Stars," his renewed focus on acting and his full-time job as a father. "Dancing With The Stars" champ and former "All My Children" actor J.R. Martinez and his girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones welcomed their first child, a girl, on May 2 in Los Angeles.
The girl, named Lauryn Anabelle Martinez, weighed in at 7 pounds and 13 ounces, according to People magazine. "She has a couple of cute little freckles on her cheeks, a full head of hair and the cutest little lips," Martinez told the magazine. He also revealed they've already been calling her "Belle" as a nickname.
J.R. Martinez and his girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones are expecting their first child, a daughter, the recent "Dancing With the Stars" winner confirmed on Saturday.
"We found out just last week it's a girl and we are over the moon," Martinez told People magazine. "Diana has a little baby bump now and it's the cutest thing ever. With the holidays coming up, this is the biggest and best gift we could get."
The mirror ball trophy isn't the only prize J.R. Martinez received after winning "Dancing With The Stars" on Tuesday, November 22.
The former "All My Children" actor and Iraq War veteran was praised by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in a letter and a phone call to the ballroom champ on Friday, November 25. Panetta also invited Martinez to meet him at the Pentagon, according to the Associated Press.
J.R. Martinez, an Iraq war veteran and former soap star, had a chat with his mother a day before he won the 13th season of "Dancing With The Stars" with partner Karina Smirnoff.
Rob Kardashian, brother of reality star Kim, and partner Cheryl Burke placed second on Tuesday's results show, while talk show host Ricki Lake and Derek Hough came in third. Martinez's mother, Maria Zavala, was in the studio audience, watching her son and Smirnoff receiving their Mirrorball Trophy.
