Congrats to "Luther" actor Idris Elba and girlfriend Naiyana Garth -- they recently welcomed their first child together.

The couple's son, Winston, was born on. Elba, 41, shared on his Twitter page on Friday, April 18, a photo of his newborn baby's tiny hand touching his finger. (See above, right)

"My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday..Truly Amazing :-)," the British actor said.

Elba lost his father, also named Winston, last year. He died of lung cancer at age 76.

Elba has been with Garth, a makeup artist who has worked with celebrities, including her partner, for at least a year. She sported a baby bump while walking the red carpet with the actor at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards in January. Elba also has a daughter from a past marriage.

Elba is known for his title role in the BBC crime series "Luther" and also starred on "The Wire." Last year, he played South African leader Nelson Mandela in the 2013 movie "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom." Last year, he told Oprah Winfrey in an interview on her OWN show "Oprah's Next Chapter" that his performance was inspired by his father, who was from West Africa.

"To be slightly connected to that for him, via his son was massive," Elba said.
