Hugh Hefner consoled by Playboy models after Crystal Harris split
Hugh Hefner was consoled by several Playboy models, including his ex-wife, hours after he and Crystal Harris announced their engagement was off.
Harris, who is 25 and appears on the cover of the nude magazine's July 11 issue, and the 85-year-old Playboy founder were supposed to marry on June 18. Harris said on Tuesday that she had decided to end their engagement.
Hefner, who has dated and lived with Playboy models for decades, said Harris and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Charlie, left the Playboy Mansion. He called their split "a heart breaker."
Hefner said on his Twitter page that his second wife, Playboy Playmate Kimberley Conrad and her mother "came by to lend their emotional support."
Hefner and Conrad wed in 1989 and divorced in March 2010. They have two sons - Marston, 21, and Cooper, 20.
"Marston won tonight's domino game with Shera Bechard, Cristal Camden, Ashley Hobbs, Jennifer Pershing, Anna Sophia Berglund & me," Hefner said on Tuesday after announcing his split from Harris.
Hefner also said Bridget Marquardt, who starred on his E! reality show "The Girls Next Door," also visited him.
Harris and Hefner's ex-girlfriends Holly Madison and Kendra Wilkinson have also appeared on the series.
"Wish I was there to support, too!" Madison, who is performing in a stage show in Las Vegas, said on her Twitter page and reposted a message from Wilkinson that read: "@hughhefner we r comin over w some jack n coke... oh n a pipe lol."
Tuesday also marked the day Harris' debut single, "Club Queen," was released online.
"Omg @CrystalHarris left @hughhefner the day her single came out on iTunes," Twitter user LinzLuvs said on Tuesday in a message Hefner reposted on his own page. "Coincidence? I think not."
Hefner also said on his Twitter page that he hoped "Club Queen" was a hit.
Harris and Hefner became engaged in December 2010 and have been linked together for about two years. Hefner and his first wife, Mildred Williams, were married between 1949 and 1959 and are parents to Christie and David, who are in their 50s.
Harris' Playboy cover is still set to run as it when the magazine's July 2011 issue is released on Friday, even though it features the words "Mrs. Crystal Hefner," People magazine reported. However, the cable network Lifetime has canceled plans to air a special called "Marrying Hef" that features her, the Hollywood Reporter said.
