'Honey Boo Boo' wedding: Mama June and Sugar Bear exchange vows
Mama June Shannon and Sugar Bear of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" recently celebrated their love.
The 33-year-old matriarch and her partner Sugar Bear held a ceremony that "celebrated their love" on Sunday, May 5, according to People magazine. Friends and family were in attendance, including 7-year-old Alana Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo, and her sisters Chickadee, Pumpkin and Chubbs.
The ceremony, which featured vows, a cake and a camouflage gown, took place in their Georgia backyard and was followed by a "rowdy" family barbeque, according to the outlet.
While the event was held to celebrate their love for each other, the pair haven't confirmed whether it was a recommitment ceremony or an actual ceremony for marriage. TMZ issued a report claiming to have obtained an invitation to the event, which reads: "You are invited to share in their joy as they exchange marriage vows." The invitation also says that it "will be a taped event."
"The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it," June told the magazine. "I felt like it was important for them to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear."
The family, who is known for their TLC reality show that depicts their often rude but always fun-loving antics, made the event a true family affair. June's sister baked the cake, and most of the wedding's budget was spent on the barbeque.
June wore a black, green and orange gown complete with a veil and colorful bouquet. Thompson, or Honey Boo Boo, dazzled in a frilly pink and orange sequined gown for the event (See photos).
While it's unclear if the pair are actually married, June does believe she's found the secret to a strong relationship: "Never settle for a man who doesn't treat you right -- If a guy doesn't love everything about you, move on! There are plenty of other fish in the sea."
"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" returns to TLC on May 17.
