Hilary Swank considers relationship with ex-husband Chad Lowe a success
Hilary Swank considers her relationship with ex-husband Chad Lowe successful, despite their 2007 divorce.
"A lot of people look at divorce as a failure," Swank, 36, told In Style magazine in its September 2010 issue. "I really looked at my relationship with Chad as 14 years of success. I will carry him in my heart forever. Hes part of me. We have friendships that we grow out of. But I believe in the long haul. I believe in having a monogamous relationship."
Swank, who won two Oscar for her performance in Clint Eastwood's 2004 film Million Dollar Baby and the 1999 movie Boys Don't Cry, currently lives with her talent agent boyfriend, John Campisi.
"I believe in the sanctity of marriage," Swank said. "John and I, you know, we were both in long marriages and it's not something that we need to rush back into."
She and Lowe, 42, have no children. They met while filming the movie Quiet Days in Hollywood in 1997 and married after dating for five months.
Lowe played HIV-positive Jesse McKenna on the 1990s drama series Life Goes On and also starred in shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210, 24 and currently, the ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars.
