Helen Mirren is a Vin Diesel fan and wants to be in a "Fast & Furious" movie. Who knew?

The 67-year-old Oscar-winning English actress made her comments to OTRC.com in a recent interview to promote her own new action film, "RED 2."

"You know, I'm so dying to be in a 'Fast & Furious' movie," she said. "Will you tell Vin? I want, I so want to be, I love 'Fast,' I love Vin Diesel and I love the 'Fast & Furious' franchise. It's great."

A seventh movie in the hit "Fast & Furious" series is currently in the works.

Mirren showcases her own action skills in the first "RED," released in 2010. She played Victoria, a former spy who gets back into the game to help her colleagues, played by the likes of Bruce Willis and John Malkovich.

In "RED 2," Willis' character, Frank, reunites most of the motley crew once again to try to find a missing nuclear weapon. The movie hits theaters on July 19 and stars franchise newcomers Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta Jones (watch a trailer, above).

Helen Mirren's take on English folks

Mirren suggested to OTRC.com that American viewers like the contradiction of seeing her, a British actress who has played the Queen of England (more than once!), in action.

"I think they think it's the queen and they just love the idea of that. I think it's a contradiction between this sort of rather, you know, nice English lady and all the ... in fact, English ladies aren't very nice, you know? They're not nice at all. They're quite raunchy actually -- much more raunchy than the American equivalent. You know, the Brits are quite rough around the edges actually. It's really a nation of hooligans actually, male and female."
