Helen Mirren twerks at Harvard's Hasty Pudding ceremony (Video)
Helen Mirren showed off her fun side when she was honored as woman of the year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals on Thursday, Jan. 30.
Mirren, 68, twerked in front of a crowd as part of a spoof roast during the 2014 Hasty Pudding Award ceremony, which can be viewed below. Although the Oscar-winning actress tried her best to get around doing the actual dance move, she dropped an expletive and decided to go for it.
That was not the first time Mirren admitted to trying to do the dance move. Mirren said, "I've tried in my bedroom in private in front of the mirror, very unsuccessfully... Absolutely humiliating to have to do it in public in front of a whole load of people."
Harvard's Hasty Pudding Theatricals is the oldest undergraduate drama troupe in America and every year the group honors performers who have made a lasting contribution to entertainment.
Marion Cotillard and Kiefer Sutherland were last year's honorees. Neil Patrick Harris will be honored as man of the year on Feb. 7.
When someone in the crowd asked her who would win in a fight between her and Meryl Streep, Mirren responded, according to People magazine, "Meryl would win, definitely."
"She's bigger, stronger and mentally stronger than I am," she added.
