Gwyneth Paltrow: people are so mean to me
Gwyneth Paltrow said that people are mean to her on the internet because of her lifestyle blog, GOOP, in the newest issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, which comes out on Thursday, February 3.
"Any time you do anything with any degree of sincerity, people make fun of you," Paltrow told Harper's Bazaar, as reported by the Huffington Post. "That's totally fine. I don't care. I don't read any of it. My thing with Goop has always been, if you don't like it, then don't log onto it. There were a couple of times when I thought, 'I'm just gonna stop doing it. People are so mean to me. I don't want to do it.' But then I was like, 'Who cares what some lame person out there says?' I was in Italy once, and this old man came up to me and said, 'I had the best time in Nashville because of Goop.' And that is so worth it to me."
The 38-year-old actress spends most of her time in the UK with her husband, British Coldplay singer Chris Martin and their two children - daughter Apple, 6, and son Moses, 4. Paltrow often talks about her preferences for living in the UK.
"In England, people are cool," Paltrow said. "They're really laid back and calm. Beyonce did the school run with me once, and everyone was fine. They also have really good anti-paparazzi rules. If you're driving in a car and they make you feel freaked out, that's against the law. They can't put you in a magazine unless they pixelate the kids' faces. I miss America, but I love living in the UK."
Paltrow recently admit that marriage is hard and talked about dealing with post-partum depression.
"Chris and I have had our ups and downs, big-time. Marriage is way more complicated than just 'Who gets to control the remote?' But hopefully we keep heading in the same direction and getting through the obstacles."
The actress received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in December. Tim McGraw, who starred with Paltrow in their recent film, "Country Strong" and Hill, his wife, attended the ceremony, as was Matthew Morrison of "Glee", the FOX musical sitcom that featured Paltrow as a substitute teacher.
Paltrow says she is set to return to the "Glee" in the spring to reprise her role as free-spirited Holly Holiday, this time her character will be choir director Will Schuester's (Matthew Morrison) love interest.
