Gwyneth Paltrow to sing Prince's 'Kiss' for 'Glee' return?
Gwyneth Paltrow is returning for two episodes of "Glee" this season to play the easygoing substitute teacher Holly Holiday and she will be joining Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) in a rousing rendition of Prince's 80's hit, "Kiss," according to a TV Line report.
Paltrow will be returning to the hit Fox show on March 8th to substitute for the school's sex ed teacher. In her last guest-star spot, the actress filled in for the Spanish teacher and performed a cover of Cee Lo's "Forget You."
"Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that the Oscar-winning actress would be returning for two episodes as Will's love interest and the duet of "Kiss" will purportedly include a lip-lock for the two actors.
"She's coming back specifically to date Will [Matthew Morrison]," Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly in January. "Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She's coming back as a sex education teacher. Gwyneth and I are emailing, talking every week: What are we gonna sing? We're trying to do something fantastic. So she'll be [in episodes] 15 and 16."
"Gwyneth Paltrow is back," Jane Lynch, who plays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on the show told E! Online. "She's going to do a couple of episodes I think, and she's just the best. She's great, and she's here because she wants to dance and sing and put a good message out to the kids."
Prince rarely licenses out any of his music, so this is a major score for the musical comedy. Prince closed out his "Welcome 2 America Tour" on Monday at Madison Square Garden. During the show, Prince invited reality star Kim Kardashian on stage and promptly kicked her off, saying "Get off the stage!" when she didn't dance, according to Spin magazine. Prince gave Kardashian another chance later in the night and she according to her Twitter, Kardashian redeemed herself.
"OMG Prince just pulled me up on stage!!! I'm shaking!!!!" Kardashian wrote on Twitter. "This time I redeemed myself! We all danced while Prince played the piano! Wow! What a night!"
It was announced earlier this month that Paltrow will be performing "Coming Home" from her recent film, "Country Strong" at the upcoming Academy Awards, which are set to air live on ABC on February 27 at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.
The actress' representation had no immediate comment on the report. Paltrow's "Glee" return episode will air on March 8, 2011 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
