Griffin O'Neal hospitalized after car crash in San Diego County
Griffin O'Neal, the son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late actress Joanna Cook Moore, was hospitalized after a car crash in San Diego County on Tuesday, officials said.
Police said the 46-year-old was heading east on San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido when he veered into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle.
O'Neal was taken to Palomar Medical Center. He was listed in stable condition Tuesday afternoon and was released a short time later.
The condition of the other driver is unknown.
Earlier Tuesday, O'Neal's half brother, Redmond, was detained on suspicion of heroin possession and for allegedly violating his probation, following years of drug-related arrests and rehab stints.
Officers allegedly found drugs in Redmond O'Neal's car during a traffic stop in Santa Monica.
Redmond, who is the son of the late actress Farrah Fawcett, was not granted bail and his next court date is set for Thursday, August 4, according to records obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.
The 26-year-old has battled substance abuse for years and has been arrested on drug-related charges before. He is currently on probation, stemming from a 2009 heroin charge, records show.
