Dr. Preston Burke is returning to "Grey's Anatomy."
ABC confirmed to OTRC.com on Thursday, March 6, that actor Isaiah Washington will return to the medical drama for one episode in May in order to reprise his role as Dr. Preston Burke.

Sandra Oh and Kevin McKidd's characters have had a complicated year on "Grey's Anatomy," and the pair's fate moving forward is still uncertain.
Prior to the show's mid-season finale in December, Cristina Yang (Oh) and Owen Hunt (McKidd), had an anything but civil relationship, as the two were still dealing with the fallout from their breakup. The two have dated on and off on the show since the addition of McKidd's character in season 5. Oh is one of the show's original cast members.
Last month, "Grey's Anatomy" kicked off its 10th season and on Oct. 10, the show will air its 200th episode. OTRC.com correspondent Chi-Lan Lieu caught up with a few of the cast members from the hit medical drama at a celebration for the 200th episode.
While most of the stars admitted they too are curious to see how Callie and Arizona's drama plays out, they also revealed a few interesting bits of information about what will happen in the 200th episode and beyond.
According to "Grey's Anatomy" star Chandra Wilson, fans will get to see a "filter-free Callie" when the show returns for its upcoming 10th season, which also features Wilson's ninth turn as a director.
Wilson and co-star Sara Ramirez recently talked to George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OTRC.com's parent company, about the medical drama.
"Grey's Anatomy" will lose another one of its original cast members.
