Goldie Hawn hosts fundraiser, parties past 4 a.m.
Goldie Hawn was in London this week promoting her new book, "10 Mindful Minutes" and reportedly stayed out until 4:30 a.m. after hosting a fundraiser.
The 66-year-old actress spent the evening of March 7 at Annabel's Members Club in the Mayfair section of London, England, where she was hosting a fundraiser for her charity, The Hawn Foundation. Following the nine hour party, Hawn was assisted into a car by her literary agent Alan Nevins, according to photos obtained by the UK's Daily Mail.
The Hawn Foundation seeks to improve children's live by giving them "vital social and emotional skills, to improve academic performance, enhance the quality of their lives and work with others in their community," according to the charity's website.
Hawn was joined at the event by her daughter Kate Hudson, 32, and her fiancé Matt Bellamy, 33, who is the lead singer of Muse and the father of their son Bingham, who was born in July 2011.
Earlier in the day, Hawn signed copies of her book "10 Mindful Minutes: Easy Steps to Joy and Mindfulness for Parents and Children," in Piccadilly, London. The self-help book was a collaboration with acclaimed British poet Wendy Holden and promises to offer children and ourselves "the social and emotional skills to reduce stress and anxiety for healthier, happy lives."
The Oscar-winning actress released her best-selling autobiography, "A Lotus Grows in the Mud" in 2005.
Hawn recently made headlines after dropping out of HBO's new comedy pilot, "The Viagra Diaries." It would have marked her first acting role since the release of the 2002 movie "The Banger Sisters."
"The Viagra Diaries" is based on a 2009 book by author Barbara Rose Brooker. The television pilot is the brainchild of "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star. Hawn was supposed to play a woman whose husband has a midlife crisis at 65 and leaves her. The character then struggles with being single for the first time in 35 years.
Hawn's last regular television acting role was in 1970, when she starred on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In." The actress has made public appearances as herself in various entertainment programs including as a presenter at the 2009 Oscar ceremony.
