Golden Globe Awards: Laura Linney wins 'Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical'
Laura Linney won the Golden Globe Award for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Comedy Or Musical" on Sunday for her role as a cancer patient who tries to find humor in the disease in the series "The Big C," marking the actress' second win and her first for the part.She beat Toni Collette of "United States of Tara," Lea Michele of "Glee," Tina Fey of "30 Rock" and Edie Falco of "Nurse Jackie."
In 2009, Linney won a Golden Globe Award for her role as Abigail Adams in the HBO miniseries "John Adams." She has been nominated for five Golden Globes in total.
Linney was unable to attend the Golden Globe Awards ceremony on Sunday.
Linney has also won three Emmys and has been nominated for three Academy Awards.
"The Big C" debuted in 2010 and also stars Oliver Platt and Gabourey Sidibe of the film "Precious." The series received two Golden Globe Award nominations.
