Kelsey Grammer has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama for the Starz show "Boss," marking his third win and ninth nomination

The 56-year-old, who plays the ruthless mayor of Chicago," beat nominees Steve Buscemi of "Boardwalk Empire," Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad," Jeremy Irons of "The Borgias" and Damian Lewis of 'Homeland." The winners were announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 15, 2012.

"Boss" debuted in 2011 and was also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Drama. Grammer has won two Golden Globes before, both given for his title role in the 1990s series "Frasier." He won an Emmy for his part and also took home a second one for an episode of "The Simpsons," which features him as recurring character, psychopath Sideshow Bob.

In "Boss," Grammer plays the ruthless mayor of Chicago. The show also received a nod for Best Television Series - Drama and has been renewed for a second season.

In addition to his work on "Boss," Grammer is developing his own comedy project "loosely based" on his love life.

Grammer also says he may run for political office in the future. The actor, who has supported and made contributions worth thousands of dollars to Republican causes in the past, has not revealed any concrete plans.

"For years, people have been publishing that I actually have declared that I would be interested in serving in the political scene, somewhere, somehow, some day," Grammer told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "That remains true. I just don't know what it might be or what capacity. It won't happen until I've decided I'm going to quit being an actor."

In 2011, Grammer also went through some personal drama. He and his third wife, Camille, finalized their divorce after being married since 1997. They have two sons together. Grammer wed his fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, weeks later, in February. She had become pregnant with his fifth child in 2010 but suffered a miscarriage.

KELSEY GRAMMER, WIFE EXPECTING BABIES

On Sunday, Grammer revealed that he and his wife, who accompanied him to the Golden Globes, are expecting again - this time, twins.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting these new arrivals in our lives," he said backstage after his Golden Globe win.

"Twins, wow, and what kind of mother do you think your wife will make?" a reporter asked him, to which Grammer responded: "Extraordinary. She's one of the loving, amazing, warm, human being I've ever met. She's funny and serious, scary and humorous all at the same time. She's an amazing person and I think she'll blow them away."

"It doesn't really change your life ... I mean, it wouldn't change the way I work, certainly. It just might change the amount of time I have to work," he added about his babies. "I'm looking forward to meeting them."

People magazine reported that Grammer's wife is already in her second trimester. Check out other celebrities who are expecting children or have given birth in 2012.

Grammer's daughter Spencer, star of the ABC Family show "Greek," gave birth to her first child, a boy, and the actor's first grandchild in October 2011.
