Gloria Estefan appears at 'X Factor' Miami auditions
The rumor mill for "X Factor" judges keeps spinning as stars like Cheryl Cole, Nicki Minaj and Jessica Simpson are thrown around as names on the possible judge list. Gossip hounds might be able to add Gloria Estefan to the list of possible candidates.
The singer recently Tweeted a photo from the set of the show and wrote messages like "On our way to a fun 'X'perience," on April 7.
Simon Cowell, who left "American Idol" to start the U.S. version of "The X Factor" and who also sits on the judges' panel, talked to a group of reporters recently about Estefan's visit according to TV Guide.
"Out of the blue, she [Estefan] turns up and apparently she did fantastic, and I had no idea she was going to be there," Cowell reportedly said. "She's a sweetheart for doing it and apparently it made a big, big difference today. She gave everyone a lot of support and encouragement. Not a lot of people would bother to do that."
Cowell did not hint if Estefan will be joining the judges table and as the spokesperson for the U.S. version of "The X Factor" told OnTheRedCarpet.com on April 5, "The judging panel is still being discussed."
Auditions for the U.S. version of "The X Factor" are currently being held across the United States. The show is seeking undiscovered talent 12 years old or over, in solo artists or groups who will perform in front of the panel in hopes of winning a $5 million recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.
The one confirmed judge to sit on the judges' panel with Cowell on "X Factor" is Grammy-winning music mogul Antonio "L.A." Reid.
Meanwhile, Estefan is reportedly working on her first English album since her 2003 effort "Unwrapped." Grammy Award-winning producer Pharrell, responsible for songs like "Drop It Like It's Hot" and Justin Timberlake's 2002 debut album "Justified."
"I can't tell u how much I've enjoyed working with @NeRdArMy!," Estefan wrote, referring to Pharrell's Twitter page. "It's truly been a magical experience and a wonderfully natural process."
On her new album, Estefan says it's "mostly English but bilingual in interesting ways."
