'Glee' tackles Fleetwood Mac, gives Brittany a Web show and outs lesbian character? - Video
The latest "Glee" episode set to air on Tuesday is titled "Rumours" and Fox gives a sneak peek by letting the ditzy cheerleader Brittany S. Pierce (Heather Morris) loose on the Web.
The character stars in a clip from her apparent Web series "Fondue For Two" where guests Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) dish on McKinley High's gossip.
Just as the girls wrap up their discussion of a particularly creepy janitor, Brittany pipes up with her own news that Santana "plays for the other team." Brittany then says, "I can confirm that rumor," because, as loyal "Glee" fans know, the two have been hooking up for a while and Santana (Naya Rivera) recently professed her love for Brittany.
Just as Mercedes and Tina allow the shocking bit of gossip to sink in, Brittany's obese cat, Lord Tubbington, steals the show by creeping up to munch on the cheese in the fondue bowl.
"Lord Tubbington is allowed to eat cheese because he's on Atkins," Brittany says.
The title "Rumours" not only applies to the fact that the kids of the glee club are dealing with their own vicious rumors, but it also ties in to the show's Fleetwood Mac theme, where character sings songs from the band's 1977 award-winning album "Rumours."
In the clip seen below, Rachel (Lea Michele) belts out an upbeat rendition of "Go Your Own Way." The show took on a Fleetwood Mac song in the past episode this season when guest-star Gwyneth Paltrow stopped by to sing "Landslide," and helped Santana sort out her feelings for Brittany.
Speaking of returning guest stars, Kristen Chenoweth reprises her role as April Rhodes in the May 3 episode. Will she have good intentions? Or is she the latest recruit of Sue Sylvester's League of Doom?
