Ginnifer Goodwin breaks up with fiance actor Joey Kern
Ginnifer Goodwin has broken up with her fiancé, "Super Troopers" actor Joey Kern, People magazine reports.
The "Something Borrowed" actress, 32, and Kern, 34, were set up by a mutual friend and reportedly broke up a few weeks ago.
Goodwin announced her engagement to actor Kern in December 2010. The actor, who has appeared in movies such as "Super Troopers" and "Cabin Fever," and Goodwin had been dating for the past two years and planned to marry in fall 2011.
At the Hollywood premiere for "Something Borrowed," Goodwin said that weddings require "self-analysis," perhaps hinting at her ended engagement.
"There is something about weddings, of course, that involves real self-analysis and a sort of, step back from one's life to find the assurance to move forward to a whole new kind of commitment," Goodwin told Rachel Smith of OnTheRedCarpet.com at the film's Hollywood premiere. "It is such a jarring, discombobulating time in everyone's lives and that's why it's such prime rom-com fodder."
In the movie, Goodwin stars as Rachel, a lawyer who's secretly in love with her law school crush Dex (Colin Egglesfield) but doesn't admit her crush until he's engaged to her childhood friend Darcy (Kate Hudson). "The Office"'s John Krasinski lends comic relief as Ethan, Rachel's confidante and sometimes conscience.
Goodwin is perhaps best known for her role in the HBO polygamy drama series "Big Love," where she plays one of the three "sister wives." In January, the show aired began its fifth and final season. She has also starred in films like "Mona Lisa Smile," "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton," "Ramona and Beezus" and "Walk the Line."
Goodwin's publicist had no immediate comment.
