Gilles Marini says his Gangnam Style dance might be 'too naughty' (Video)

10/20/2012 by Olivia Allin

Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd told OTRC.com that their "Gangnam Style" dance might be "too naughty" for "Dancing With The Stars."

"It's probably the most-simple dance of all time, but also the most-watched dance of all time," Marini told OTRC.com, demonstrating the dance during his October 19 rehearsal. "We have a move that goes like this, but it's too naughty for morning-time. We have one move - it is so insane that probably we get great scores from it or we get slashed from it."

The pair will perform the iconic dance for this week's group dance. As he was tied for first place, Marini was picked as a team leader for the dance and picked his team and song.

"It was karma," Marini told OTRC.com of the song pick. "We requested that song in case we go to the finals - we wanted that song so bad. And I believe we are good people and karma went around and I asked Shawn Johnson to pick first the song and the other one that was left was 'Gangnam Style,' so I call it a pure karma moment."

"I went for the team that I felt had a lot of heart, that no matter what the age - what age we are, no matter how good or bad or whatnot we move, it doesn't matter," Marini said of his team picks. "I wanted a team that is great to work with and is fun and is the pure essence of the show."

"Gangnam Style" is Korean superstar Psy's hit single and corresponding dance, which recently broke the world record after becoming the "most liked" video on YouTube.

Last week, the 36-year-old French actor and Murgatroyd were the first contestants to receive 10 out of 10 points from a judge, let alone three judges (including guest judge Paula Abdul) for their Bollywood-inspired performance. The pair was eventually tied by Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough.

"I'm so happy we danced before Shawn and Derek," Marini said. "Because I knew - we watched rehearsals and we were like, 'We're dead. This is incredible.' So, we're very happy we danced before and we had the first 10."

On this week's show, the pair will dance the Rumba to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," for Marini's "dirty pleasure" song, along with their group "Gangnam Style" dance.

Bristol Palin was eventually eliminated on October 16, leaving eight remaining couples to battle for the Mirror ball trophy.

Marini was born in France to a Greek mother and an Italian father. He worked in his dad's bakery from age 8 until he graduated high school, after which he served time in the French army in Paris and also worked as a fireman, according to the actor's website.

Marini did several guest roles before he was cast in the 2008 movie "Sex and the City," playing what would become his breakout role - Samantha's sexy beach house neighbor, Dante, who enjoys showering outside in the nude. Marini eventually landed a recurring role of Luc Laurent in the ABC drama series "Brothers & Sisters" and went on to play Angelo on the ABC Family series "Switched At Birth."

There will be no elimination next week and an hour-long show on Monday and Tuesday set to feature group performances as well as individual dances.
