Gia Allemand of 'The Bachelor' hospitalized in critical condition
Gia Allemand, who competed for Jake Pavelka's heart on season 14 of "The Bachelor," is currently hospitalized in critical condition after suffering a "serious emergency medical event," OTRC.com has learned.
The 29-year-old was taken to a University Hospital in New Orleans on Monday night and details about her ailment are currently unknown, her spokesperson said in a statement.
"Ms. Allemand's mother is with her, along with her long-term boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans," the rep added. "On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time.
Allemand's uncle, Robert Allemand, said in a post on Facebook that Allemand was "is in a New Orleans hospital on life support.
An update about Allemand's condition is set to be announced on Wednesday, the statement said.
"Please pray for @GiaAllemand..." Pavelka said on Twitter on Tuesday. "A dear friend and one of the sweetest women I know... #powerofprayer."
"My thoughts and prayers go out to giaallemand and her family !!!" tweeted Jesse Csincsak, who won season 4 of spinoff "The Bachelorette" and is married to "The Bachelor" season 13 contestant Ann Lueders.
Csincsak also posted on his Instagram page a picture of him with Allemand.
"Get well soon !" he said. "ICU is no fun ! Huggs..."
