Over 20 years has passed since audiences saw Bill Murray power up a Proton Pack in the 1989 film "Ghostbusters 2." Now word comes from director Ivan Reitman, who directed and produced the first two "Ghostbusters" movies, that the script for a third film is finished is "a very good script."

According to the Associated Press, Reitman says the script for the third installment of the franchise has been sent to star Bill Murray.

Reitman added on Friday that "nothing you've read on the Internet is accurate" and that Murray hasn't yet read the "Ghostbusters 3" script. However, the filmmaker is confident about the content, saying, "It's good enough to do, to take the risk of doing again."

Murray's "Ghostbusters" costar Dan Aykroyd seemed to agree with that statement in a December interview with Entertainment Tonight. Aykroyd, who played Dr. Raymond Stantz in the film while Murray was Dr. Peter Venkman, said that the project had a "great script, and [the writers] have written a part for Bill Murray that is a comic role of a lifetime."
